Privacy Policy

Spark is a sales proposal and contract management platform operated by MicroGRID Energy LLC (“MicroGRID,” “we,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information Spark collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to sales representatives and authorized users who sign in to Spark, and to homeowners whose proposals are prepared and signed through Spark.

Information we collect

From sales representatives (“reps”) who sign in to Spark:

• Account identity: name, email, phone, and the Google account used to authenticate.
• Activity: proposals created, appointments scheduled, leads contacted, and timestamps of those actions.
• Device and session data: IP address, browser, operating system, and Spark session tokens.

From homeowners whose proposals are prepared or signed through Spark:

• Contact information: name, mailing address, email, and phone number provided by the rep or the homeowner.
• Property details: address, utility account, estimated system size, and any attachments the homeowner provides during signing (for example, a recent utility bill).
• Signature data: typed or drawn signature, timestamp, IP address, and a tamper-evident audit trail of the signing session.

How we use the information

• To operate Spark: authenticate users, generate proposals, coordinate signing, and maintain the audit record of each signed contract.
• To calculate rep compensation and team performance metrics.
• To communicate with homeowners about their pending proposal, welcome calls, or post-sign milestones.
• To detect and investigate fraud, abuse, or violations of our terms.
• To comply with legal obligations (for example, electronic signature recordkeeping under the E-SIGN Act and ESIGN/UETA).

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed to operate Spark:

• Service providers who host Spark or perform narrow functions on our behalf (hosting, email delivery, address lookup, solar analysis, document signing).
• MicroGRID affiliates and installation partners responsible for fulfilling the signed contract (for example, engineering, permitting, and installation).
• Regulators or law enforcement when required by valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of MicroGRID, our users, or the public.

We do not share Google-authenticated user data with third parties except as necessary to provide or improve Spark, comply with applicable law, or as otherwise consistent with Google’s Limited Use requirements.

Security

Spark encrypts data in transit using HTTPS and at rest using the controls of our hosting providers. Access to personal data inside Spark is gated by authenticated sessions, role-based permissions, and database row-level security. No system is perfectly secure; if you suspect an incident, contact us at the address below.

Retention

Rep account data is retained while the account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for audit, tax, and commission reconciliation. Signed contracts and their audit trails are retained for the full legal retention period applicable to executed electronic contracts (generally at least seven years).

Your choices

• Reps may update their profile from Settings, or request deletion of their account by contacting their manager.
• Homeowners may request a copy of, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about them, subject to retention obligations that apply to signed contracts.
• If you are a California, Texas, or other U.S. state privacy-law resident with applicable rights, contact us using the address below to exercise them.

Children

Spark is intended for use by adults in a professional or residential contracting context. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, communicated in-product.
